Building the decentralised economy

Quality assets do not require click-bait, dark patterns, pump and dump schemes or hype to win. Adoption comes as people trust that quality assets, tools and services are built in a sustainable ecosystem with integrity.

Fiat money, the way it is distributed, managed and produced and the high-time-preference it encourages have cultural implications that we have lived with for too long.

You can not change time-preference without changing culture. With the arrival of Bitcoin, a new culture is also arising. Business will need to adjust and become far more focused on listening than ever before.

Good story telling is at the heart of all successful cultures. Everybody likes a good story.

Adoption requires stories

People do not buy products or services. Nobody understands everything. People by compelling narrative and trust.

`What’s in it for me?´ is the key question when faced with new technology. Once convinced that a technology will serve us THEN we care to learn more. Not before.

  • Projects need stories: (Propositions, brands, campaigns, PR etc)

  • Media needs stories

  • Stories attract users and retail investors

  • Stories inspire user education

  • Education develops a workforce

  • Educated workforce improves project success rate

  • Successful projects create interesting stories

Ecosystems need stories

Communication challenges

  • Users can lose money via scams or mistakes. This damages the sustainability of the ecosystem.

  • Voyager, Celsius, Terra Luna, NFT scams, the suing of celebrities and the FTX affair etc, have left a bad impression with many.

Meanwhile, for others, Bitcoin is seen as boring. In search of fun or getting rich quick, many younger investors and users fall for projects that use them as exit liquidity. Bitcoin is the foundation both financially and educationally.

  • Conversations between finance professionals and developers are inaccessible and hard to follow, much less inspiring unless you know what is being said.

  • Content creation with the help of AI and the podcast boom is accelerating. Time available is not.

You are not on their mind, and why would you be? There is a lot to care about. Partners, family and friends, jobs, taxes, hobbies, health problems, birthdays, emergencies, the news and dare I say, `politics´?

  • The average U.S. consumer receives over 10,000 offers per day. How many are remembered?

  • Modern social media has damaged the attention span. We need short, simple and inspiring or fun ways to absorb information.

  • In order to expand, the industry needs educated users.

  • In order to expand, the industry needs an educated workforce. The natural progression is from investor/user to worker.

  • Explaining the technology is fascinating to a tech-savvy crowd. For everybody else, the message needs to be about what the technology will deliver and focused on the values behind why we would want that.

Communications challenges

We need stories that resonate!

  • Build a recognisable brand

  • Get ideas over quickly and intuitively.

  • Break things down into simple, digestible concepts

  • Make things memorable

  • Build partnerships and community

  • Develop content based adoption strategies

  • Events and content planning around strategic concept

  • Design

Pro-active unfunded Bitcoin projects

1. The Bitcoin Daily Show: `Bitcoin at the frontier´

I direct and present the `Bitcoin at the Frontier´ show on X-spaces as part of the `Bitcoin Daily show¨. (10am-Noon EST on Fridays @Dailybtcshow). My X handle is @foxonform.

I invite the pioneers of Bitcoin circular economies and entrepreneurs from around the world to share stories, challenges and solutions. We also bring wallet developers and designers to hear from their users.

I also created the group logo and run the branding program for the The Bitcoin Daily Show

2. “The search for Jameson Lopp”. A cartoon as a B2B networking strategy

No one has found the bottom of the Bitcoin rabbit hole
— Jameson Lopp, American cyberpunk and Bitcoin advocate

Breaking ice and smiles. Eliciting curiosity to help technical and financial teams to drop the orange pills.

Memes are powerful but meme creators are anonymous. I wanted to leverage the power of fast, easy and fun communication through a recognisable, meme-like cartoon, become a useful orange-pilling tool and help me to network.

Mass adoption will not come via logical explanation. We will get there via a cultural movement. I use a combination of AI and `my eye´ to bring some fun and elicit some curiosity. The project has been shared, commended or followed by Samson Mow, Adam Back, Chris Kuiper, Tomer Strolight, Adam Soltys and other prominent figures in the space who are all now personal contacts.
