Check the flow before you go
Don’t make your graphic designers paddle up the river system to get what they need.
We should look for the easy way and go with the flow, right? There is no need to understand the entire river system with all its branches and tributaries. Just float down and trust the process. Soon you will reach the sea.
But this can be a fraught with danger if the route is not clear. We want great strategies and we want engaging tactics. But how many great ideas are dashed upon the rocks along the way?
A graphic designer’s worst nightmare is a deadline without the accompanying content and asset delivery and no clear idea of where to get them. Great ideas are not worth much if you cannot implement them. Great implementation means mastery of the media application. Complete, headache-free asset delivery means decisions must be final and timely upstream. The better organised your operation, the less time your designers spend paddling against the current and the more attention they can give you on the implementation.
Great strategy without good organisational planning is like a beautiful canoe dashed upon the rocks.
The Amazon is a complex river system. It is easy to get lost.
